About Denton School of Martial Arts

Denton School of Martial Arts was established on August 25, 2001 under the leadership of Master Dwain Freeman. This is a local family-owned and operated business right here in Denton, NC. We offer quality instruction and training in Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido. With over 30 years experience in teaching Martial Arts our instructors truly have a passion for helping children and adults maximize their fullest potential in life as well as the Martial Arts. We have a wide range of programs and services to fit the needs of every member of the family. We look forward to your family visiting our facility and joining us at Denton School of Martial Arts.

Master Freeman started training in Karate in 1991. He soon changed arts and began to train in Tae Kwon Do at Kim’s Black Belt Academy in 1992 where he trained for nearly 12 years under Master Joe Coleman. He received his 1st, 2nd, & 3rd degree black belt while training with Master Coleman.

In 2001, Master Freeman established Denton School of Martial Arts. In 2005, Master Freeman joined Triad Martial Arts in High Point, NC to train in the art of Hapkido under Master Holt Williford where he has received his 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree black belt in Hapkido and went on to get his 4th & 5th degree in Tae Kwon Do. Master Freeman is a decorated veteran of the Martial Arts and has many trophies, awards, and honors. He has won multiple tournaments at the state and national level and has produced many State Champions under his leadership. He says that his most prized honor is when he was awarded the Budo Award.
